I’m sick. I’m tired. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’m going on day four of this godawful full blown cold. I can usually knock out the beginning symptoms of a germ invasion with a counter strike of Zinc lozenges, extra Vitamin C and a good night’s sweat. Yes, I said sweat. I love my extra large adult, purple, onesie that I scored for like .50 cents at a yard sale almost 10 years ago. I pull that sucker on over my clothes and when I wake up the next day, I usually feel like a million bucks. Best. Investment. Ever.
Well not this time. The pathogens got the best of me. I was in need of a nice, warm and soothing tonic. So this is what I threw together. And I must admit, I’m feeling better already!
What you’ll need:
– Boiling water
– 1 tea bag of your choice (I used green tea)
– 1 slice of ginger root (1/4 inch thick)
– 1 slice of lemon
– a few mint leaves
– 1 Tbsp agave nectar or honey
– 4 oz (two shots) of E&J Brandy
Place the first 4 ingredients in your favorite mug. Fill the mug with boiling water. Let tea, lemon, mint and ginger steep for about 5 minutes. Add the agave nectar and E&J Brandy. Stir well and enjoy. And feel better!
